 James Reid and DJ Lee Softley - aka Blue Amazon - are a UK electronic duo from Huddersfield whose sound has engulfed the UK and brought the ethereal 'Epic House' style to the spotlight. 'We wanted to get a sound which would be recognized immediately,' says Lee. And with their majestic debut full length 'Javelin,' Blue Amazon have developed an inspirational soundtrack that does just that.
'Javelin' is a continuous mix of all their singles, exquisitely produced with angelic tranced- out house that features sweet and hypnotic vocals by longtime collaborator Vicky Webb. The duo met at a studio course in 1994. Their initial singles caused fever and excitement among the premiere UK djs Carl Cox, Sasha, Digweed and Paul Oakenfold. They went on to remix everyone from electronic popsters Erasure to jazz jungle artist Alex Reece as well as a host of indie groups including UK's Black Grape. They have performed all over Europe at clubs and festivals such as Tribal Gathering and Phoenix, however their first live date was in Southern Florida before an enthusiastic crowd of 10,000 people. A sign of things to come for Blue Amazon in the U.S.
