Born in Long Island and growing up in New York, France, and South Carolina, Chris Micali's interest in music stemmed from a passion for technology and new ideas that started at the age of 12. By 14 he was writing music with a computer and any electronic equipment he could get his hands on. His interest in house music started when he heard it first at 16, and he has not looked back since. Now based in Boston for the past 5 years, Chris has begun doing live performances and spreading his music to great success. Whether sweating in front a packed club twisting knobs and queuing up the next synth part or fine tuning in the studio, Chris is in his element.
Chris's dedication to dance music brings soul and energy into his production, a blend of driving tribal-influenced percussion and subtle melody. This unique blend of progressive has been supported by most of the industries top personalities, including Chris Fortier, Jimmy Van M, John Digweed, and Sasha among others. Many projects are in the works including new original material and more collaboration with Boston's Ali Ajami.
Chris met DJs Numinous and Habersham in late 2002 and has been working with them since. They are the men behind Blueprint, an Atlanta based label. Chris's remix of their track, ''Rhetorical Question,'' an storming tribal influenced original production, ''Chant,'' and a dubby collaboration between all three called ''Dubway'' are out now on Blueprint Recordings.
