D-LavD-Lav, a.k.a. David Laven, comprises half of Shlavens and D-Lav, the production force behind Slanted House Records.  D-Lav is a recent graduate of the University of Vermont, where he used his time in Burlington to refine his mixing ability behind the decks and to develop an ear for the tracks that can drive a dance floor crazy.  Between 2000 and 2004 D-Lav earned his reputation as one of the best around  through his residencies at Metronome's Sunday Night Mass and at 135 Pearl along with his now legendary afterhours parties.  As an expirienced studio producer, D-Lav now has a discogrophy that includes 7 releases through Slanted House, and is currently working on several more.  In the summer of 2002, Shlavens and D-Lav were weekly residents of Brooklyn's Bar Below, showcasing a live DJ/synth production show of original improvised house music.  Currently D-Lav is settling himself into the Southern New England scene with shows at Boston's Embassy and Worcester's Rage.  D-Lav's constant studio work, coupled with his close ties to some of the best producers around, mean that his sets are almost always an original, groundbreaking glimpse into the future of electronic music.
