Markus Schulz's time is fast approaching. Just missing a slot in this years ''DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs of 2003'' (119), Markus is winning over fans with his unique style of dark and brooding yet melodic DJ sets. With a newly released mix CD (Coldharbour Sessions) and artist album in the works, Markus is poised to make an impressive leap into the top 100 DJ's next year. Markus, a self-proclaimed studio geek, is infamous for surprising his fans with his reconstructions of well-known songs. ''Sometimes I like a song, but it just doesn't fit the flow of my DJ sets, so I have no problem spending a day or two in the studio reworking by editing, adding extra percussion and extra keyboard parts to a song to make it fit my style'' says Markus. When not in the studio reconstructing tracks for his DJ sets, Markus is busy working directly with record labels and artists who want to have that very particular sound that he is known for. With international tour dates filling his calendar, Markus is quickly becoming one of the most sought after DJs on the planet.
