Remark has been collecting records since he was 7 years old. This passion for music became a DJ career at the age of 17 when he began working for a nightclub in Orlando, Florida, playing the likes of Depeche Mode, New Order, and Pet Shop Boys. The synth-pop of the '80's laid the foundation for an obsession for house music that continues through today.
Fueled by Orlando's exploding dance music scene, Remark's career really took off in the early '90's. Throughout the decade, Remark held residencies and played at every club in Orlando, including Renaissance, Cairo, Icon, Southern Nights, The Edge, and the legendary Club at Firestone. He also travelled extensively throughout the country, playing major events in several cities, including Indianapolis, Boston, Charleston, Atlanta, and Miami; and has played alongside other renowned DJs and artists, namely Chris Fortier, Tim Skinner, Jimmy Van Mellegham, DJ Feelgood, DJ Dan, D-Fuse, Terry Mullan, Kimball Collins, Andy Hughes, Sam Mollison, Blue Amazon, John Debo, and Icey.
Remark's most significant contribution to the Orlando scene was undoubtedly his weekly Saturday night radio show, ''Remarkable'', where he played the latest and greatest in club music. The show rocked the airwaves for 10 years, and enjoyed several guest DJs and performers, including Paul Gotel, Union Jack, Humate, Future Sound of London, Pete ''The Shaker'' Bones, Keoki, Lance Cashion, Evolution, and Andy Ling, just to name a few. Remark's radio show always featured the newest tunes, due in part to him being the manager of Underground Record Source, one of the most popular dance-music-only stores in the Southeast.
In 2000, Remark changed career direction and moved to Dallas, Texas, but still stayed involved with house music culture, and played at Club One as well as a few gigs in Austin for Slow Motion Music. In 2002, his technology-focused profession moved him to Atlanta, Georgia, where he currently resides. Music is still a major force in his world, and he now enjoys playing regularly in Atlanta at various gigs where he can showcase a spectrum of sound--everything from more intelligent house to his signature intense, vocal-inspired uplifting tunes. His residency at a lounge called Bazzaar brought energy to Saturday nights during 2004 and 2005. Remark was also featured on Proton Radio in 2005, taking his sound online for the world to hear. 2006 has been exciting as well, playing gigs at The Mark Ultralounge and other various one-offs around the Southeast. With mixes updated monthly on his website (www.remarkcentral.com), Remark continues to deliver his passion and excitement for top-notch, intense, and rousing house music.
